While teams like the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have settled line-ups and roles chalked out for their players, the Delhi Daredevils will be working towards find the right combination for the team in the 2015, Pepsi Indian Premier League. The Delhi franchise is at work as they prepare to put forth an improved performance in the eighth edition of the tournament under the guidance of coach Gary Kirsten and the leadership of South African all-rounder JP Duminy. Fielding questions from the media, at the Palam ground in New Delhi, the newly appointed DD captain said, “Obviously, last season, we were very bad in a lot of areas. This season, we want to rectify that. I think that is the disadvantage for us (in comparison) to most teams that they are pretty settled in how to go about the game. It is important for us to learn that very quickly and make sure we are on top of our game. “I am pretty excited with the caliber of players we have this season. We have to figure out, how we go about first up as it’s a little disadvantage for us trying to figure out combination. It's exciting to find fresh faces with new energy,” he said while reflecting on his team. "It is nice to have so many options with bat and ball. That is where we lacked a little bit last year; as we didn't have too many options. Neither with bat nor with the ball. That's something I am looking forward to this year. We have a lot of new faces, so we have to understand the combination that works for the team this year," Duminy added. Discussing the inclusions of senior players, veterans Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan ahead of IPL 2015, the DD skipper said, “It’s about understanding the dynamics of the game and understanding who is best suited for what position. Those two players will offer lot in terms of experience, in my opinion, they are good enough to field anywhere. Most players, including myself, will feed off their knowledge.” Talking about the experienced Zaheer Khan, Duminy said, “You don't have to really say a lot about Zaheer. His record speaks for itself. The amount of cricket he has played over the years, you can't take that away from him. His experience will be crucial not only for team but also for a captain like me,” he added.
