The Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed Jacques Kallis as their head coach ahead of the 2016 IPL season. Kallis succeeds Trevor Bayliss, who was at the helm of the team for four years. Bayliss is currently the England coach. Kallis, who has been a vital cog in the KKR setup since 2011, became the batting consultant and mentor for the franchise for the 2015 season. The legendary South African all-rounder said about his new role, "KKR is my family in India and the association since 2011 has been one of the most enjoyable experiences for me.
