Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal elected as Chairman of IPL Governing Council

Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal was unanimously elected as the Chairman in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council meeting held in Mumbai.

Some of the key points that were discussed in the meeting were matters related to the upcoming season of Men’s IPL and launch of the Women’s IPL edition in 2023.

On his appointment as Chairman of IPL GC, Mr. Dhumal said: “I am honoured to have been given this opportunity. The IPL has established itself as the premier T20 competition in the world over the years. In my stint as IPL Chairman, I will be looking to focus on key stakeholders to enhance fan engagement, both in-stadia, Broadcast and OTT platforms. I intend to collaborate and work in partnership with the ecosystem.”

“We are also excited with the prospect of the launch of Women’s IPL in March 2023. The initial discussions with the stakeholders have been very heartening and we are focussed on taking the women’s game to the next level. We are positive about the response that the Women’s IPL edition will garner and will work towards making it a grand success.”

Mr Dhumal had previously served as BCCI’s Honorary Treasurer from 2019-2022.
