The match between the Kolkota Knight Riders and theDeccan Chargers at the Eden Gardens was abandoned due to heavy showers here earlier in the evening. The Chargers collect their first point of IPL 2012 since both teams got a point each for the game after it was called off. The crowds waited for the game to start despite thunder, lightning and strong winds. Although it stopped raining later, it was impossible to get a game because of water logging and puddles in the outfield. The ground staff worked relentlessly to clear the puddles and get the ground ready for the game, but their efforts were in vain. After inspection, the match officials finally called it a day at 10:15 pm.
