We will do our best to win: Mishra
Summary

DD leg-spinner hopes for a positive result against RR

Keen to open their account in the Pepsi Indian Premier League 2015, the Delhi Daredevils trained at the Ferozeshah Kotla ahead of their game against the Rajasthan Royals on April 12th. Although they lost their first game of the season, the JP Duminy-led side had put up a fight against the Chennai Super Kings and will be looking to turn the results in their favour on Sunday. Speaking to the media ahead of the team’s practice session, leg-spinner Amit Mishra said, “(When) you go out and perform well against the Chennai Super Kings, it gives you confidence. We batted and bowled well. Unfortunately the result was not in our favour. But we are playing the next game at home and we have confidence (of doing well). T20 is unpredictable but we will do our best to win and like I said before, our combination is good. It is just a matter of clicking.” Reflecting on the loss against CSK he said, “T20 (format) is such that one or two batsmen or bowlers click in a game. In the match against CSK, Albie Morkel performed for us. We just lost too many wickets.” “We have played only one match so far and did well. It takes a game or two to get into the groove. It’s not that easy. We have done alright, we have a good combination, good players and you will see that in the games to come,” he added. Speaking about his bowling and bowling alongside fellow leg-spinner Imran Tahir, Mishra said, “We complement each other well. We discuss and learn things from each other. We support each other and both are putting in efforts to do well and help the team win.” The DD bowling line-up has been strengthened by the presence of senior India pacer Zaheer Khan amongst their ranks. Talking about the experienced campaigner’s contributions, he said, “Zaheer (bhai) is an experienced player. We have played together and he supports me. You will see him on the field soon. He has always been helpful to others and shares his experience. He is a key player in the side. He is a wicket-taking bowler and talks about how to take wickets, how to bowl in pressure situations. He keeps helping the bowlers." Speaking about the success that bowlers have been getting in the shortest format, he said, “When bowlers do well it feels good to watch too. It becomes a bit challenging for the batsmen as well. When there is an even challenge between bat and ball, it makes for a good match.”
